Power to Change in Western Australia recently launched Summer Pulse, a way to keep the campus movements buzzing during the long uni break. Modeled on similar strategies in Queensland and NSW, it was led by a team of student leaders, who oversaw 40 people attending during its peak, during Tuesday nights at Subiaco Church of Christ.
Ebony from the Pulse committee, recently back from a Summer Project to the northern beaches of Sydney, comments that “it was a joy to organize, because we had a great team”
“Dena, James and I were able to discuss and agree on the types of activities we would run across the two evenings. It was also handy to have John (Power to Change campus missionary in WA) oversee and contribute ideas from similar events he has been involved with”
“We ran connect games, listened to some guest speakers including James Bryant (LeadDifferent, and former young adults pastor at Saddleback Community Church) and Dr Brian Harris (Vose Seminary Principal), as well as made a point to try and connect with and follow up any new students heading to a WA university in 2017”
Power to Change has only recently launched a team in WA, but it is great to see students stepping up in their leadership responsibilities and helping make Jesus famous on their campuses.
“Next year we might schedule in a few more” shares Dena, another member of the student-led team.
