Leadership Development Cohort

Starting March 2027

The Leadership Development Cohort (LDC) is a six-month leadership formation and development journey.

It is designed to equip present and future leaders across Power to Change Australia to lead with excellence, steward their influence wisely, and contribute meaningfully to the mission of seeing Gospel movements everywhere.

A Vision for Leadership Development

Our vision is to cultivate a growing pipeline of Christ-centred leaders who can faithfully and effectively lead in an increasingly complex ministry environment.

The Leadership Development Cohort exists to help participants develop the convictions, character, relationships, and leadership capabilities needed to serve God’s mission for the long haul.

Disciple-making movements are sustained not only by effective ministry strategies but by leaders who can inspire others, foster collaboration, steward resources, navigate change, and multiply leadership.

Therefore, the desired outcomes of the cohort is that by the completion of it, participants will:

  • Grow in confidence and competence to lead others.
  • Develop the character and heart of a leader marked by humility and dependence on God.
  • Build deep relationships of trust with peers and senior leaders.
  • Articulate a compelling vision for Gospel movements in their context.
  • Apply movement-building principles in diverse ministry environments.
  • Cultivate a growth mindset for ongoing leadership development.

Who Will Benefit Most?

The best place to begin is to initiate a conversation with your team leader about your interest in the Leadership Development Cohort. Those who would benefit from participation in the Leadership Development Cohort include:

Emerging Leaders

Individuals demonstrating initiative, influence, teachability, and leadership potential who may lead teams or significant ministry initiatives in the future.

New Leaders

Leaders who have recently stepped into leadership responsibility and would benefit from foundational leadership formation and development.

Existing Leaders Seeking Further Development

Current leaders who desire intentional growth in areas such as leading people, strategic thinking, movement-building, collaboration, and leadership multiplication.

What Makes the Leadership Development Cohort Different?

There are many excellent leadership resources available today. Importantly, the cohort is intended to complement—not replace—the Emerging Leaders Initiative (ELI). The distinctive contribution of the Leadership Development Cohort is:

🌱

Developing leaders within the context of Power to Change Australia.

🤝

Providing leadership formation that is relational, contextual, practical and transferable.

🧭

Equipping leaders to faithfully steward God’s mission within their current ministry context and wherever God may lead them in the future.

Together, these leadership initiatives contribute to a broader leadership development pathway that supports leaders at different stages of their growth.
