Want to change the world?

If you want your life and work to make a meaningful difference to the world, we’ve got a place for you.

Power to Change exists to help fulfill the Great Commission in Australia and beyond.

Our mission is to connect, build and send Christ-centered disciple makers who launch and lead spiritual movements.

About the role

Our recent strategic review revealed the need to bolster our communications in social media in order to achieve our national goals. In essence, this is to cultivate a strong and active community engaged with us in the mission. The communications audience varies depending on purpose. In some communication arenas the audience are under 25. But other groups may be donors or fellow labourers. We invite all to be Change Makers by investing their LIFE. LIFE being Labour, Influence, Finances or Expertise.

We have a team dedicated to communications and marketing in Power to Change in which this role will reside. In Power to Change we have over twenty social media accounts. Just a couple of them are led by people at our HQ. These accounts may be national or local. Some of the work is direct – you determine the ongoing communication. But some of the work is in training and equipping others who are the administrators.

God is working through our extensive team around Australia. We want to represent creatively and excellently the work God is doing. We want to give like-minded Christians the opportunity to serve God and make the most of our many resources to be change-makers in their sphere of influence. We invite people to invest their LIFE in God’s kingdoms work. LIFE being labour, influence, finance and expertise.

In a small team people play multiple roles so experience in writing, graphics or marketing concepts would be beneficial.

Good communication skills are needed to work well in a small team. Our Headquarters is in Mulgrave Melbourne. While it would be advantageous to work sometime out of the HQ it is possible to be based elsewhere in Australia. This is a new national role so would be free to flex your innovation muscles in helping us make the position work. Our team is already scattered, although the major live in Melbourne. Our existing enthusiastic social media part-time person, whom this role will collaborate with, lives near the HQ.

People are at the heart of what we do, and so is this role. We need someone who can communicate our heartbeat, connecting donors with field missionaries and everyone in between. We need someone who can keep their finger on the pulse, engage our community and lead the charge in developing great social media tools for donor stewardship. You’ll be part of a team to brand, message and execute our social media strategy.

About you

  • You’re a people person, a great communicator who can build rapport with a wide range of people.
  • You love to collaborate and work as a team while taking responsibility for decision making.
  • You’re flexible and adaptable to change, with a practical ‘can do’ attitude.
  • You’re looking for a flexible role that suits your lifestyle or stage of life.
  • You love a challenge, you’re innovative in how you approach your job and your team.
  • You’re organized and efficient in managing projects for you and your team members.
  • You’re curious about what donors and partners are interested in and working creatively to delight and engage them in the work of Power to Change.
  • You have personal experience with Power to Change or similar mission organization and a passion to see lives changed through the Christian message.

Essential skills and experience

  • Social Media, communications, marketing or social media degree preferred.

About Power to Change Australia

We have been building sustainable movements that see people connected to Jesus, built in their faith and sent out to do the same since 1967. Our strategies connect with people on university campuses, in high schools, with families and churches and even overseas with our partner GAiN.

You may know us as Student Life or Campus Crusade for Christ. We’re now Power to Change Australia and part of an international network known as Cru Global. Together we have around 17,000 missionaries serving in over 190 countries around the world.

We know that true change, through the person of Jesus is more powerful than anything. Ready to make your own change?

For us, it’s more than a job.

We care deeply about our mission. Our work is motivated by the love of God and his Great Commission. We live and work with bold faith, we thrive together with real team work and we continually seek to grow in our character, and in fruitfulness.

As Power to Change has no central funds for paying stipends, our missionaries raise a financial support team to allow them to serve in the movement. If this position becomes a full-time missionary one, then the applicant would be assigned a financial support coach who will help them through the support raising process. This normally takes between 6 and 12 months. Power to Change is very experienced with this method of funding mission work with over 150 people currently serving in Australia using this model.
