Starting A New Page, Blog Post or Event
- Add a title before starting your blog post as that will generate a URL. However, you can always change it afterwards.
- The best way to insert your text is to paste it under the Text editor, not the Visual editor.
- Headers: Only have one H1 in your blog posts (which is your title). After that, you can use H2 for your subtitles and H3 for your main points under those subtitles and so on.
- Please select ‘open a new page’ for all links to keep users on your website. You can leave it unchecked for any internal links.
Uploading Images
- Rename your images before uploading them – include your keywords in the title for best SEO practice.
- Use imageresizer.com to optimise your images.
- Ideally you want the images to be around 300kb or less.
- The dimensions don’t need to be more than 1500x1000px unless specified.
- Choose JPG for your images and PNG for any transparent images.
Uploading PDFs
- Rename your PDFs before uploading them – include your keywords in the title for best SEO practice.
- Use ilovepdf.com/compress_pdf to optimise your PDFs.
Uploading Videos
- Please don’t upload your videos straight onto the media library. Instead upload them to a video hosting platform, e.g. Youtube or Vimeo, and embed them onto your website.
- Paste your embed code into the ‘Code Module’ or ‘Text Module’.
- Adjust the size of your video by changing the ‘Sizing’ settings.
- Always double check how it looks on all the devices.
- For Youtube videos: Use tube.rvere.com to optimise the embed link.
