Story by Scott A, Digital Ministry
Incredible things have been happening in the digital team!
Andrew, National Director of the Campus strategy, has been meeting a friend named George* (not his real name) to go cycling and have breakfast together. They’ve regularly had spiritual conversations.
Andrew used the Digital Strategy’s thefour.au to explain the gospel to George, and gave him one of ‘The Four’ wristbands. The wristbands are easy conversation starters to talk with people about Jesus using four simple icons.
George didn’t become a Christian, but he later messaged Andrew, asking where he could buy a wristband. He’d been having a spiritual conversation with another friend – and gave him the wristband. So Andrew sent George the link to the Power to Change resources page on our website, and George ordered 10 wristbands!
So, we have a not-yet-believer using thefour.au wristbands to have spiritual conversations with his friends. Nothing gets in the way of God’s plans!
Another story is that of Lucy. She became a Christian through Power to Change just a few years ago and now serves with international students with Power to Change in Brisbane.
Last summer, Lucy was in Taiwan and was talking to an old friend from high school. She said, “My friend was asking what I had been doing in Australia, and she had been reading the Bible. So I showed her Yalena’s video from TheFour.au, and she received Christ the day before I returned to Australia!”
Stories like George’s and Lucy’s are just some of the exciting reports from the year.
A major event in 2022 was the Nexus national conference for campus missionaries at Mt Tamborine in Queensland. Scott Adamson, who leads our Digital Strategies team, said, “That’s always a great way to start the year – connecting with God, each other, and the mission. It’s what Power to Change is all about!”
The Digital Strategy has such an amazing team across the country, in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, as well as Toowoomba and Townsville. Every one of them is so keen to proclaim God’s message. And they are so thankful that, even though they’re over distance, they’ve been able to communicate really well.
The mission statement of the digital team is ‘making disciples through digital strategies’. Scott explains that, “It’s really simple and really broad. We’re sold out to make disciples of Jesus. and every year there’s a new tool, there are new possibilities and new opportunities.”
Scott would love you to pray for the team. He says that, “Our prayer for the coming year is that we can continue to learn and grow and be part of the incredible worldwide movement to see the world won for Christ!”
