Why join a One Day Workshop?

The SHIFTm2M Day Workshop is a practical and inspiring introduction to a disciplemaking framework shaped by the life and ministry of Jesus. Designed for pastors and ministry leaders, this one-day event will help you reimagin how your ministry can move from maintenance to multiplication.

What Will Be Covered?

Drawing from the core principles of the full nine-day SHIFTm2M experience, the workshop provides a hands-on look at the biblical foundations, key frameworks, and essential shifts needed to cultivate a culture of disciplemaking. You’ll also have time to reflect on your own ministry context and begin thinking through next steps for application.

Whether you’re just starting out or already leading a growing ministry, this workshop will challenge and equip you to take intentional steps toward becoming a movement of multiplying disciples.

We highly recommend attending with others from your leadership team to get the most out of the day and to begin the journey together.

Leaders following Jesus in building disciplemaking movements

Join leadership peers to explore a disciplemaking framework centred on a case study of Jesus’ ministry focusing on His movement building principles. Shift groups are coordinated by trained facilitators who will help you wrestle with the realities of implementing what you discover about movement building in your own life and ministry context.

What is SHIFTm2M?

SHIFTm2M (ministries to Movements) is not an effort to prescribe a ‘model’ of doing ministry that you can take and plant over your old style. SHIFTm2M is a journey to discover the foundation of what Christ is calling leaders to be and what efforts He asks leaders to build into as His followers.

Centred around the gospels, SHIFTm2M Groups are times of study, training, discussion, and evaluation. There are nine days of content usually split over four retreats or once a month for 9 months.

There is preparation to do before each retreat. This is primarily working through Knowing Him, a 50 day chronological study through the life of Christ.

This is facilitated using a Harmony of the Gospels which presents Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in parallel with events in the life of Christ presented in chronological order. Each study is supplemented by a podcast and most days have a video shot on location in Israel unpacking more about geography and historical context.

It’s on this foundation of a slow, thorough, and fascinating study through the gospels that your facilitator will help you unpack Jesus’ disciplemaking movement principles and apply them to your ministry context. During SHIFTm2M, you’ll study movement building principles from the life of Christ which have been used by thousands of leaders globally.

What Is Included?

  • Knowing Him

Knowing Him 50 day self-guided chronological study through the life of Christ with supplemental podcasts and videos shot on location in Israel.

  • Retreats

9 Days of face-to-face retreat time with other Christian leaders to explore Jesus’ disciplemaking movement principles and how they apply in your context.

  • Academic Credit

Option to gain academic credit for your SHIFTm2M study through ACOM as part of one of their Diploma, Bachelor, Graduate Certificate, or Masters programs.

We have made SHIFTm2M one of two practical core trainings for our Emerging Leaders program because our aim is to have leaders equipped in ministry to ‘think’ movements, to ‘live’ as disciple-makers, and ‘be’ Kingdom minded. SHIFTm2M helps us achieve this through studying the priorities of Jesus as the model movement builder, with a high degree of application through facilitation and coaching, to implement their ‘primary pathway’ for disciple-making into their ministry context.

Do you have a question? Let’s Talk!

Got questions about SHIFTm2M or wondering if a cohort is right for you? We'd love to help you explore how this journey could strengthen your disciplemaking and leadership. Reach out to us-our team is happy to chat and help you take the next step toward joining a cohort.

Purpose of Multiply

Multiply is for pastors and ministry leaders who want more than busy ministry. It is for those ready to shift from running programmes to growing a disciplemaking movement with real Kingdom impact.

Hosted by Sydenham Baptist Church, this two-day gathering explores simple, transferable frameworks drawn from the life of Jesus. Together, we will learn how to create environments that connect people to Jesus, build them in their faith, and send them to make disciples.

Who is it for?

Denominational leaders, pastors, lay leaders, and leadership teams who want to shape their ministry around disciplemaking. Multiply is especially valuable for teams wanting to clarify or strengthen their disciplemaking pathway together.

Why Attend?

Multiply is less a conference and more a community of practice. You will:

  • Learn proven disciplemaking frameworks grounded in Jesus’ ministry
  • Hear real stories from practitioners in a local church context
  • Connect deeply with like-minded leaders
  • Reflect on your own ministry and identify practical next stepsThis is not about a packaged programme. It is about principles, clarity, and encouragement for building a disciplemaking culture in your context.
What will you gain?

Fresh vision. Practical tools. Meaningful peer connections.

And clear next steps to help you move from ministry to movement.

Why join a MyFriends Training goup?

Joining an online MyFriends Training group is a great way to grow in confidence and skills for sharing your faith in natural, everyday conversations. You’ll be encouraged by others on the same journey, learn simple tools that really work, and discover how God can use you to impact your friends and community. Because it’s online, you can join from anywhere, making it easy to stay connected and supported as you put what you learn into practice.

Bring Jesus Into Your Community

We are passionate about giving Australians the opportunity to know Jesus personally. Many Aussies are spiritually curious, but few are interested in visiting a church. So how can they encounter Jesus?

MyFriends equips everyday Christians to build a lifestyle that naturally creates opportunities for friends and family to explore God’s story together.

We are a community committed to intentionally loving, praying, caring, and sharing Jesus with our friends, family, and colleagues who do not yet know him. We trust that as we live this way, Australians will encounter Jesus and discover God’s story within their own communities.

We invite anyone who wants to see their community experience Jesus to join this adventure. Together, let’s work toward every community across Australia knowing him.

We encourage you to bring at least two friends with you on the MyFriends journey. Learning in community is always more fruitful than walking the path alone.

In Term 4, 2025, we are offering four national MyFriends Learning Communities across three time zones. You and your group can join whichever session works best. The training runs over nine weeks, with 1.5-hour sessions each week.

What to Expect

MyFriends Training is delivered using a hybrid model. Multiple small groups gather face-to-face or online and join their trainer via Zoom.

The training material is in a digital format for easy viewing on any device. Some materials are available to download as printable PDFs.

In addition to the training sessions, participants will have some personal Lifestyle Practice material to complete between sessions. This can be done individually or with your group.

We ask the members of each training group to create a MyFriends WhatsApp or Messenger group to share prayer points, stories, and ask questions.
